ZOO VISIT - (2024-02-27)
On a crisp and sunny morning, our little toddlers embarked on an unforgettable adventure to the Kanpur zoo( Allen Forest). Excitement filled the air as all gathered to explore the wonders of the animal kingdom.
The vibrant colours of the tropical birds were the first to catch their attention. As we entered a realm where nature's most magnificent creatures were on display. The atmosphere was alive with the calls and cries of animals, from the chirping of birds, the roar of tiger and lions, to the playful antics of the monkeys. The white tiger , leopard the cute baby rhino filled them with wonder as the pictures from the book jumped to life for them.The picnic and the adventure park further filled their day with happiness. We are sure they made many beautiful memories along with the life skills on how to conduct themselves in a public place, follow instructions the kids also got opportunity to see these creatures up close, observe their behaviors, and learn about their natural habitats.

"Christmas gives us an opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things around us"
In Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt we celebrated the festival of Christmas with zeal and enthusiasm explaining the purpose of Christmas to little kids. Children explained the importance of festival through speeches and thoughts which were followed by a small skit describing the birth of Lord Jesus. A carol, "Mary's Boy" was sung describing the story of Lord Jesus's birth.A fantastic dance was performed by children on Christmas jingles. The whole environment was further charged with the entry of little Santa Clauses who made everyone around them dance with joy.

Exhibition - Creative Hands at Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt
December 29, 2023 was an artistic day for all the students and parents as We had organised an Exhibition for classes 1-8 on the day of P.T.M.( Session 2023-2024)
Inspired ,encouraged and motivated by the teachers and the parents, the budding talent of our students displayed different itineraries which they had made during their Tuesday/Wednesday activity periods with great enthusiasm and excitement.
The exhibition had various creative corners like Paper Quilling, Best out of Waste, Wool Craft Block painting , Ribbon and Thread Embroidery, Pot Decoration and Pot People, Bird feeder, Paper Collage , Skeletal Peepal Leaf Craft ,Eco friendly Bags , Envelopes, Tie and Dye , Chef Corner and many more
Parents were provided an opportunity to view it. As this exhibition was an excellent opportunity for students to develop their creative skills and inspire others . Parents felt immense happiness on seeing their ward' s creation and creativity.
The event provided a platform for new creative minds to shapen their talents and innovations for the future .
The exhibition ended with with a very positive note of Parents appreciation for the beautiful work of their children’s ideas.

Opening Ceremony of Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) UP and UK Regional Girls' Basketball Tournament, 2023 - (2023-08-18)
Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt. had the privilege of hosting the Opening Ceremony of Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) UP and UK Regional Girls' Basketball Tournament, 2023 on behalf of Kanpur North Zone on 18th August, 2023.
Honourable IPS Raveena Tyagi Ji, SP Traffic, Kanpur graced the event as the Chief Guest. She also addressed the students and shared a powerful motivational message with everyone present there.
To add elegance to the occasion, various dignitaries were also present. Ma'am Vanita Mehrotra, Principal, Sheiling House School and Zone Coordinator - Kanpur North Zone, Father Melvin D'Souza, Principal, St Thomas School and Zone Coordinator - Kanpur South Zone and Mr Virendra Vikram Singh, U.P. Secretary, U.P. Basketball Association. All the dignitaries together inaugurated the event and declared Regional Girls' Basketball Tournament open.
Ma'am V. Mehrotra also shared a few words of inspiration with the students. The ceremony came to an end successfully, thus, paving the way for the matches to begin.

CISCE UP and UK Regional Girls' Baketball Tournament - (2023-08-22)
It was a moment of immense pride for Dr Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt to host CISCE UP and UK Regional Girls' Baketball Tournament on behalf of Kanpur North Zone on 18th and 19th August, 2023. 36 teams from 12 zones took part in the tournament.
The tournament began after a splendid opening ceremony on 18th August, 2023 and culminated exquisitely with the closing ceremony on 19th August, 2023.
Ma'am Vanita Mehrotra, Principal, Sheiling House School and Zone Coordinator - Kanpur North Zone graced the event with her presence. Students put forth a graceful dance performance to cheer up the participants.
Dr S. Mandal, Principal, Dr VSPS, Cantt presented the trophies and medals to all the winners. She also shared a few words of inspiration, emphasizing on the need to imbibe qualities of discipline, sportsmanship spirit and to never be disappointed by failures in life. The event ended with a vote of thanks from the host school.

Career guidance is a formal way for people to receive advice on their career at different stages.
It is a comprehensive development program designed to assist individuals in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices.
In order to help students make adequate career choices our school hosted the CAREER & UNIVERSITY LIVE FESTIVAL 2023 organized by CAMPUS COACH which is looked after by Mr. Gaurav Yadav. Students got to explore the vastness and diversity of professions available throughout the world.
We had several esteemed Universities and institutes from all over the country here with their counselors to aid the students in directing themselves to the right path.
Students for other schools also visited our school to attend this session.
It was incredibly instructional and engaging. The Delegates representing the universities briefed the students a lot about various professions and the benefits of their Universities.
The overall response was phenomenal and it left a profound impact on the students.

Harmony : Musical Evening - (2023-11-05)
Maintaining its promise to promote more equity in the world through pre-eminence in the field of qualitative education, Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt.,Kanpur organized a musical evening on 5th November, 2023.
It was a culmination of a four-day celebration that included the Annual Concert and an Inter-School Literary and Technological Fiesta.
The musical evening began with a mesmerizing rendition called 'THIRKAN' a spectacular dance performance by a group of school students. The theme was a medley of music and dance depicting collective consciousness, beliefs, values, and cultural essence that are deeply ingrained in the psyche of India.
The icing on the cake was a tantalizing performance by sensational playback singer 'RAGHAV CHAITANYA' .
The audience grooved on some of his popular numbers ' Maine Tera Naam' , ' Mujhse Mil', ' Hua Main' and many others.
Like all good things come to an end, HARMONY too culminated on a delightful note, leaving blissful memories in everyone's heart.

Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School Cantt Shines on Harmony Fiesta Day 3: Celebrating Excellence and Unity
The third day of Harmony Fiesta, featuring a wide array of inter-school competitions, commenced with even greater energy and enthusiasm. The students demonstrated exceptional skills in various events, including Brain Games, Infinity War, The Third Eye View, Rang Mania, Treasure Hunt, Band Wars, Vima Me Vima, and Add Rizz to Canvas Graffiti.
The evening brought forth the highly anticipated valedictory ceremony, providing an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of students from esteemed schools who came together to collaborate and compete.
The ceremony began with a warm address from Dr. S. Mandal, our esteemed Principal, expressing her gratitude to the students and teachers for their active participation in all the events. The students were awarded medals and mementoes by our Madam Principal, and the pride and joy on the faces of the awardees were evident.
D.P.S. Barra achieved numerous accolades and was declared the Event Winner of the Inter-School competitions. The first runner-up was Dr. V.S.P.S. Govind Nagar, and the second runner-up position was secured by Seth Anandram Jaipuria School.
This event has left an indelible mark on everyone's hearts, serving as a reminder of the importance of hard work, determination, and the pursuit of excellence.

The transformative journey of ' harmony ' - the annual techno, cultural, scientific, arts and literary festival began with immense fervour and excitement. The participants waited anxiously for the lighting of the lamp and soon after the atmosphere resonated with the electrifying competition of duet singing. Various other competitions like Brain games, Maths Modelling, Collage making and different forms of art commenced showcasing immense talent of the participants. The competitive spirit of the students of various prestigious schools of Kanpur permeated through the environment. The participants showcased exemplary dramatic skills in Ekanki (melodrama), their entrepreneurial skills in SharkTank andthe budding orators captivated the audience with their speaking skills. The participants displayed their innovations while they modelled in Fashionista. The entire quadrangle resonated with the cheering and applause of the participants in the game- ‘A minute to win’.The enthusiasm of the participants had in no way diminished by the end of this eventful day and they retreated to their homes so that they could resume the next day with greater energy and spirit.
Harmony is not merely an event. It is a canvas where talents are painted, courage is summoned and dreams are matured.

In the grand tapestry of memories, certain words reverberate for eternity, deserving repetition. Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt, transformed into a hub of vibrant activity as it hosted the ASISC Regional Literary Events for the UP and UK regions. Among the array of literary competitions, the Inter-School Senior Debate and Declamation Competition stood as a captivating and thought-provoking event. Participants from diverse schools spanning the UP and UK regions converged to showcase their eloquence.The students showcased alluring speeches of renowned personalities with utmost precision, poise and voice modulation. Each participant performed his best to outdo the other but the flag of Kanpur kept flying high with Swaraj India Public School, Kanpur being declared as the winner of the senior declamation competition. The 2nd position was acquired by Holy Child School, Ghaziabad and the 3rd position was bagged by Gurukul Academy, Lucknow. The magic in the speeches of all the budding orators truly charmed the audience.

Opening Ceremony MUN 2023
The energy in the quadrangle of Dr.Virendra Swarup Public School Cantt was electrifying and one could see the anticipation as the delegates eagerly waited for the commencement of the grand MUN 2023.
The prestigious event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our honorable Madam Principal and other esteemed dignitaries followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by Anandi Mishra of 11B which left the audience spellbound. The young and energetic board members of the MUN were honored with badges and sachets by Madam Principal. The chief guest Ma'am R. Yadav, with great zest presented a dynamic ideology which would help the delegates in the conference and outside of it as well. Finally, the spectacular event was declared open with the release of the balloons and the pigeons followed by a bang of the hammer embarking the hopes and dreams of the young minds to soar to new heights.

Independence Day Celebration
Dr. Virendra Swarup Public School, Cantt. celebrated the 76th Independence Day (Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) of the nation at the school campus with pride and honour and even with great homage to all the great fighters and patriots who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of India and made India a better place to live.
The Principal of the school, Dr. Sushma Mandal was the Chief Guest of the programme and she hoisted the National Flag on the school building sharp at 9:00 am. All the students and teachers saluted the flag and then sang the National Anthem.
The school then had various cultural programmes. Patriotic songs were sung and poems were also recited by the students. A team of few students displayed a wonderful dance performance.
The school even awarded the winners of various Inter-School events. The program ended with the vote of thanks by the school Captain.

The participants Adeeba Mohammadi and Vanshika Somani stood 2nd and Adeeba Mohammadi was a runner – up for the best speaker.

Independence Day Celebrations - (August 15, 2017)
Independence is a bliss. The school celebrated 71st Independence Day with zest and enthusiasm. Lord Krishna’s Birthday also coincided with the occasion, so jubiliation doubled for everyone.
Music is an instrument to connect our souls to the ‘Divine’. An Inter-House Group Song Competition was organised for students of class VII and VIII with ‘Lord Krishna’ as the theme. The participants presented different colours of ‘Krishna Bhakti’ as they sang beautifully.

Inter House English Declamation - (August 9, 2017)
With the view to promote the skill of effective Public Speaking, Inter House English Declamation Competition was held. Impactful speeches of the prominent personalities of the world ( Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam’s ‘Visions for India’ and A speech by Shri Ratan Tata) were declaimed by the eight young orators. The efforts of the participants were indeed commendable and made it very difficult for the judges to select the winners.

Fizzy Mocktail - (April 18, 2017)
We always want to make sure kids have the best parties and choosing a fantastic theme is one of the best ways to ensure that kids have a great time and remember the party for years to come. Mocktail party proved to be a great idea. Mocktail Party is a great idea to beat the heat this summer!! Fruit juices and soft drinks are always well enjoyed by these young ones. Children were asked to bring their favourite Fruit juices (tetra pack). In addition, some brought soft drinks. They were then given the opportunity to come forward with their fellow mate to make a mocktail of their choice by mixing up the two drinks. Music of their choice was played. Tots enjoyed sipping colourful drinks from the sparkling glasses.
